Biggby Coffee Westfield is Hiring a Store Manager Near Westfield, IN

BIGGBY COFFEE is seeking a full time Store Manager for our Westfield location. The Store Manager reports directly to the store's owners.

We are a small, locally owned business with approximately 20 employees (Baristas and Shift Leads) looking for the perfect candidate to manage all aspects of store operations while promoting BIGGBY Values. Management experience, preferably in food services is required. Specific coffee shop experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to staff scheduling, product ordering, staff supervision with participation in staff hiring and training. Additionally, store manager is expected to spend time working on the line, serving customers while in a supervisory role. See below for more detailed job description.

Schedule Expectations:

  • Store manager position is a full-time position with regular schedule of 40 hours per week. (May be less with approved time-off/vacation)

Manager responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the store consistently meets all BIGGBY COFFEE franchise requirements
  • Ensuring the store consistently succeeds in all aspects of operation.
  • Ensuring effective management of staff.
  • Ensuring the store maximizes profitability through sales growth and effective expense management.

Meet Franchise Requirements. - The Store Manager must be familiar with existing and new franchise requirements. This includes among other things:

  • All seasonal offers are available and appropriately promoted in the store.
  • Store is open for business during all agreed upon operating hours.
  • All checklists (monthly, weekly, opening, closing, and 3-hour) are consistently completed.
  • Store is maintained to meet health code and BIGGBY health standards.

Successful Operations – The Store Manager must operate in a fashion that allows the following:

  • Store is clean, bright, and well maintained.
  • Store is staffed appropriately to be able to serve customers in a timely manner.
  • Store consistently properly utilizes barista positions and position priorities (The System) to ensure efficient, fast service delivery.
  • Store is stocked appropriately to be able to serve menu items consistently.
  • Customers are consistently greeted within three steps (or 3 seconds), receive a correctly prepared, high-quality food or beverage, and receive a friendly, engaging experience from staff.

Manage Staff – Shift Leads and Baristas report to the Store Manager. It is the Store Manager’s responsibility to ensure the store has enough hired employees and is consistently staffed properly. This includes among other things:

  • With assistance from Percolator, all staff is appropriately trained.
  • With assistance from Owners, staff is recruited and hired.
  • Ensuring store and staff on duty are properly and consistently supervised.
  • Ensuring staff on duty demonstrate PERC, remain productive, and demonstrate appropriate behavior during all shifts.
  • Ensuring staff receive appropriate feedback, coaching, and performance reviews as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that BIGGBY culture is alive in the store, including an inclusive, positive working environment. Store should contribute to staff “building a life that they love.”

Maximize Profitability – Store Manager, working with Owners, is responsible for ensuring continued growth in store sales and effective management of store expenses within their control. This includes among other things:

  • Ensure cashiers are consistently and effectively using suggestive selling with customers.
  • Ensure store promotions are known by staff and executed properly.
  • Implement sales growth ideas such as in-store events, in-store coupons, business drops and community involvement activities.
  • Implement staff contests to promote sales goals
  • Ensure effective ordering with a goal of minimizing cost of goods sold while ensuring adequate supply.
  • Ensure store is adequately staffed but not overstaffed by evaluating daily business cycles to minimize labor costs and by adjusting shifts to improve overall staffing levels.
  • Ensure product waste is minimized.
  • Ensure equipment is well maintained to reduce repair/replacement costs.
  • Ensure cash in store is consistently supervised, managed and reconciled.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,500.00 - $44,000.00 per year
